The family letters written by Nicholas Young, Thomas Young, Mahala Carter Young, Annie Young Owens, Mae Young, and Lillian Owens Bleil were preserved by Nicholas Young's daughter Estella Young Carwile. These letters were then handed down to Estella's great granddaughter Tricia Eley. Tricia graciously scanned them for me and sent the images to me by email. She also provided pictures and genealogical documents. With her permission, her files are made available on this web site.

My sister, Debi Todd, has researched with me. Together we have collected information, ordered records, and scanned our family's documents. I have appreciated all she has done.

My grandmother preserved the letter that Estella Young Carwile wrote to my grandfather Cecil Thomas Young.

My mother preserved family photos and genealogical documents.

Jim Owens, grandson of Nicholas Augustus Young, provided three photographs. He and his sister, Jeanne, corresponded with me and answered tons of questions.
