My Genes: My name is Brenda Barley-Kay, and I am Nicholas and Mahala Carter Young's great great great granddaughter. I descend through their son Thomas Young (married Lora E. Carwile).

My Family: I live in Utah with my husband David and our two little girls.

My Life: I am a former public school teacher and have a master's degree in education. I enjoy reading, running, playing the piano, and being a soccer mom.

My Passion: For the last year and a half, my sister and I have researched Nicholas Young's extended family. I must have inherited this passion from my grandfather, Cecil Thomas Young. He began our family's research on Nicholas over 40 years ago.

My Goal: My goal is to self-publish a book on Nicholas Young. I want to document, in book form, the connections to Nicholas' siblings, parents, and ancestral French line. I aim to make the book available to family members at cost and to donate copies to all relevant historical/genealogical societies.
