Nicholas Young and Mahala Carter, my great great great grandparents, and their children have been well documented by many researchers. Nicholas was a farmer, and he and Mahala raised their family in Osage County, Missouri (read more about Nicholas).

To my knowledge, no researchers other than myself and the contributors listed on this site, have documented or published the connection to Nicholas Young's siblings, parents, and ancestral French line. As you will see, the content found in the family letters has made that documentation possible.

PURPOSES OF THIS SITE

To make the family letters, photographs, genealogical documents, and the history of this family available to Nicholas and Mahala's descendants as well as the descendants of his siblings.
To document and publish the connections to Nicholas Young's siblings, parents, and ancestral French line. I hope this information will assist other researchers and ultimately lead to the documentation of all of Nicholas' siblings (we are missing a few!)

CLARIFICATION

Please note that Nicholas Young had a brother named Nicholas Augustus Young who lived in Eagle Point, Oregon. To avoid confusing the two, I will use Nicholas' brother's middle name (Augustus) to distinguish them.
